Start with the decisions the plan needs to support
Use the plan to compare a cart, trailer, kiosk or café, choose a primary sales channel, and describe the customer and occasion you are serving. Explain why that customer would choose you over the options they already have.
Keep the operating model concrete. Describe your menu, service style, selling locations or booking process, and the preparation and staffing behind a typical service. A plan should account for work outside the opening hours too.
Connect your research to your budget
Record location observations, customer tests, competitor comparisons and supplier quotes alongside the assumptions they inform. Mark unknowns openly rather than filling them with plausible-looking numbers.
Build startup costs, operating cash, drink costs and break-even estimates from your own inputs. Update the plan when a quote, test or approval changes what is possible. If a lender or another recipient needs a particular format, confirm that requirement with them.

Use one connected working plan
Coffee Academy’s Business Plan Builder connects the planning work across Steps 1–15. It is designed to help you develop the parts together, review gaps and keep the plan useful as you learn more.
The free Step overviews explain the decisions. The Builder and Full Lessons are member resources, with separate tools for financial planning. Your own research and numbers remain the basis of the plan.
