A short service window does not create a short workday. The work expands before service, after service, and into the time you thought was yours.

A simple, modest-volume service may be manageable alone; a busy rush may not be. Rehearse taking payment, making mixed orders, restocking, cleaning, and handling a problem with your actual layout. Include setup, pack-down, and breaks when judging the workload. If one person cannot serve safely and reliably, simplify the menu, narrow the opening hours, or arrange trained help before promising more. Price the service to cover the staffing it actually needs.
Do not assume it will be, even when the seller says a manager runs everything. Find out who actually handles purchasing, repairs, cash controls, staff absences, and decisions the manager cannot make. Include the cost of replacing the seller's and family's unpaid work. Capable managers and clear systems can reduce daily dependence on you, but you still need oversight and backup. Check the operating records and responsibilities before accepting a hands-off income claim.
For an acquisition, have an accountant and lawyer review the financial records and agreements.
You can pause, reduce bookings, or arrange trained cover without deciding immediately to sell. Compare those options with your household needs, continuing business costs, and realistic childcare. Another owner's pregnancy or return-to-work story does not establish what is safe or workable for you. Discuss the lifting, standing, heat, and other demands of your actual work with your healthcare professional. Change the operating plan to fit your circumstances, rather than treating exhaustion as a requirement.
Do not build the operating plan around that assumption. Ask the local health authority about the proposed arrangement before buying or altering the trailer. A quiet service window does not remove hot-liquid, equipment, hygiene, or supervision risks. Arrange dependable childcare and a backup. Another owner doing it is not evidence that it is permitted or safe for your children.
